Between 2016 and 2026, the Bureau of Labor Statistics expects the social work field to grow by 16 percent, considered faster than the average for all occupations. After graduating and going on to pursue licensure, MSW@USC students are prepared to help meet this need in a variety of social work fields including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Clinical social work
  • Foster care and adoption services
  • Crisis intervention
  • Community mental health
  • Public health
  • Medical social work
  • Community outreach
  • Policy and planning

Three Departments to Choose From:

  • The Department of Adult Mental Health and Wellness immerses students in human behavioral theory, clinical practice and policy, preparing them to work directly with clients as clinical social workers.
  • The Department of Children, Youth and Families is for students who want to advocate for children and adolescents while designing service programs that help families function more effectively within their environments.
  • The Department of Social Change and Innovation prepares students to help large entities thrive while also providing direct support to individuals within those entities.
